Unhappy Sensor shortage?

Both Rebreather World Stores & DiveRite Express are out of stock on R22D-type AI sensors. Is there a sudden worldwide shortage?

According to DiveRite Express, "We apologize, however some of the items you ordered have been unexpectedly back-ordered. The following items are out of stock: Oxygen Sensor w/Molex 3-Pin Connector
Our supplier cannot give us an estimate of when we should expect these to arrive.
"

This despite the fact that the DRE web pages said yesterday when I ordered and still says they can ship "Today". At least Rebreather World Store is upfront in telling me they are out of stock.

Try Silent Diving. Won't be AI and will cost more. Supply vs Demand. If you have $4 US you can buy a gallon of petrol.

Re: Sensor shortage?

Correction - DiveRite Express does have sensors in stock. I received a polite reply to the nastygram I sent them:

Hi Dan,
I apologize - it seems as though an inventory error caused the discrepancy. We do in fact have R22's in stock, and your order will ship today. I would like to add that we take pride in our customer service, and would never engage in any "bait and switch" tactics. This simply boils down to an error on our part, for which we apologize.
Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Tony

Sorry for bad-mouthing them.
