Condensation on Inspiration O2 sensors

I recently had a problem with condensation on the sensor faces on the second dive of the day.

Does anybody out there open the scrubber to let the head dry out between dives? Is this recommended? Also, what is the best way to get the condensation off the sensors - can one use a soft tissue to soak it up?

Thanks
Ken

Re: Condensation on Inspiration O2 sensors

Ken,

This has always caused problems.....It is always a good idea to leave the Inspo on it's lungs after the dive.

As for drying off the cells, I have always opened up the head after or between dives to let it dry off, with no ill affects. I have also dried off the condensation as much as possible with some kitchen roll.

On my inspiration I used to gently touch the face of each cell with the corner of a piece of tissue paper - sucks it dry like a vaccum.
Couldnt dive it without drying head/cells between dives otherwise all i got was BEEP BEEP BEEP!

Thanks for the responses. It's reassuring (in a way!) to know that it's not an uncommon problem. From now on I'll open it up between dives and check for condensation on the cells.
