Analytical Industries Sensors outperform Teledyne in six-year study

The following is a blatant commercial post from a new Rebreather World Sponsor.

AII sensors outperform Teledyne? Yes, it is true. Read how the team of engineers at Deep Life UK did what is quite possibly the most comprehensive analysis of rebreather sensors to date.

CCRsense.com stocks fresh Analytical Industries (AII) sensors for most rebreathers.

To kick off the CCRsense.com grand opening, CCRsense is offering a 15% coupon to all Rebreatherworld members, for one week only. Currently CCRsense offers a 10% discount when you buy 3 sensors at a time. Add this to the RBWmember 15% discount, you save 25% off of retail when you buy sensors in quantity of 3. If you order in the next 8 hours, your sensors will be in the post tomorrow. This includes international orders!

Just bought sensors from another supplier? You can still save! Register on CCRsense.com and you will be sent a personal coupon for 10% off of any order that you place before 1 April, 2008.

Re: Analytical Industries Sensors outperform Teledyne in six-year study

Thanks for moving the post to the correct location, Stuart.

Yes, it is really hard to find a completely objective study of anything because all humans (including engineers and scientists) have biases. But I thought the tests performed were applicable--especially the drop test--since I take my rebreather on the back of a bouncing RIB on 250km open-ocean trips. A connector on one of my sensors has come unplugged at least once during such a trip, which is why I went to using rubber sleeves on my connectors. To be sure, in punishing studies like Deep Life's the real winner will be the closed circuit diver. AII has improved its sensors and Teledyne is in the process of doing so.

Life support equipment manufacturers should not settle for "good enough."

Re: Analytical Industries Sensors outperform Teledyne in six-year study

this is an issue that I had when I did my training with leon, way back when.how accurate is your po2 reading's on your monitor.as it turn's out
your information is only as reliable as your sensor.guess what? that new sensor you just put in is already +/- 5% and that being a teledyne.

that beg's the question. at what po2 setting do you fly your unit?
anyone?

Re: Analytical Industries Sensors outperform Teledyne in six-year study

Just this morning I bought 3 from Dive Rite Express (ok, they're R22 and not AI). I looked at your site prior to purchase but figured shipping from Hawaii would take a bit too long. I have used AI sensors up till the last sensor change about a year ago when I decided to compare my experiences with R22's. I haven't seen a difference as yet but obviously that's far from a scientific study.

How long would it take to ship from HI to NJ?

Their site shows they ship USPS Priority Mail; so figure 3 ~ 5 days.

1.0 or, on a long very deep dive, lower.

Reasons are first that I want to be mid range to account for any sensor deviations and second because I see no benefit in high ppO2's WRT deco and I do not enjoy toasting my lungs.

Hmmm if you bought them from me, they ARE the AI sensor.

I see now, your labeling is a little confusing, perhaps intentionally so . The top of the page shows R-22DR in big font while smaller font provides the fact that they are the AI's. As I said I've used both and don't have a preference. No worries either way but they were from you and they are the AI sensors. My bad.

The Dive Rite Express R-22DR with the standard 3-pin Molex connector is equivalent to the Teledyne R-22D is actually our part number for the Analytical Industries PSR-11-39-MD.
