Re: video: interview with Alex at EuroTek 2008 Thanks for posting. It is going to be interesting quite how much of the integrated O2 valve will be in the shell - can you turn it on/off when sitting rigged up, I wonder? regards Brad

Good point! It is going to be interesting quite how much of the integrated O2 valve will be in the shell - can you turn it on/off when sitting rigged up, I wonder? regards Brad If you get a problem with the manual add valve or constant flow orifice during a dive, how can you isolate the O2? I guess if you have a high O2 in the loop the machine will bail you out though..... Can Alex clarify? Steve |

Re: video: interview with Alex at EuroTek 2008 Great interview, wish there were more like this. I understand companies had to paid $1000's to get interviewed which is why e didnt get to see all.

Well, the situation around DeepLife interviews is quite strange.Alex had twice given thorough interviews in last two years, especially about O.R. big brother (commercial twin scrubber eCCR) but for some strange reason they just disappeared. Probably that's why Open Revolution rebreather serie is so mystified and considered as a "hype". Anyway: today I will upload a good quality video larger in size (151 Mb) of the same interview for those wanting to have a closer look at the unit.

Re: video: interview with Alex at EuroTek 2008 Thanks for posting. indeed, as you saw over on a very popluar UK website, this has been pointed out and questions have been asked as to the safety aspect of this design decisionIt is going to be interesting quite how much of the integrated O2 valve will be in the shell - can you turn it on/off when sitting rigged up, I wonder? regards Brad if the O2 knob is infact inside the case when shut, this could prove a fatal flaw in design

Re: video: interview with Alex at EuroTek 2008 Good point! I asked that question and was told the only thing you should be doing is bailing out which will be performed automaticaly. Another point I could not understand was the fact that there is no digital display of PPO2 excpt the series of light for the HUD that the person wearing the unit can see. there is a set mounted on the back for the buddy but not in a position visable to the wearer. If you get a problem with the manual add valve or constant flow orifice during a dive, how can you isolate the O2? I guess if you have a high O2 in the loop the machine will bail you out though..... Can Alex clarify? Steve It was about that point in the conversation I made my excuses and left (albeit 5 feet to the stand I was manning) Fin

Re: video: interview with Alex at EuroTek 2008 Another point I could not understand was the fact that there is no digital display of PPO2 excpt the series of light for the HUD that the person wearing the unit can see. As well as the fibreoptic PPo2 & Co2 display {which hasn't been shownFin } there is an audio (voice clip) feedback of PPo2 & deco if any. More info in the monitor datasheet.Oh, lets put the O2 cylinder in the case then if anyo... wait, wheels, let's have wheels then people can roll it along the ....hey, I know, what about a BOV that bails you.. In their defense, the integrated O2 cylinder came about doing manned ergonomic trials looking at how to configure/integrate bailout, they offer the non O2 integrated Short case Apoc as an option so you can rig cylinders on it as per an inspo/meg/kiss/revo etc.The wheels I have no idea, but am sure that some of the resort crowd are happy with them. The new alternative option of rubber blocks sounds better though. Auto bailout has been on the design sheet for a long time, IIRC its part of the units safety case. Makes sense to me, if the gas in the loop can't sustain life, not really a good option to be having divers breath it. Regards Brad
