Megalodon training in Florida cave country

Hi all,

Now finally I decided to go ahead and make the switch from OC to CCR.
I don't have a rebreather on order yet, but I am thinking about buying the Megalodon.
Mainly I will be diving the CCR in the Florida caves, therefore I would like to find a instructor
how can teach me the Meg around High Springs / Luraville area.

Which instructor would you recommend to teach me the Meg in the caves?

Congrats on coming over to the dark side you will not be disappointed. Get a hold of Gregg Stanton at Home He teaches the MEG is a great instructor and has a really nice facility. I think Benthic did his meg training with Gregg right after i did my KISS training. He is in the heart of cave country,

Gregg has a class starting end of Jan.. He also has a Meg to rent.

Helium-diver is correct, I did do training with Gregg and I'll second the recommendation for his class. Gregg was very thorough and runs a great class. His courses are basically taught in two parts--the first few days in the classroom and pool and the last few days out diving. If you'd like to spend the diving portion in cave country Gregg would be happy to accomodate you. He lives south of Tallahassee and did my training at Morrison, Jackson Blue, Blue Grotto and Peacock. It's worth pointing out that it worked out well for me because all three of us in class were already OC cave divers. If we'd had a mix of folks we may have wound up doing parts of the class elsewhere. If caves are your wish, probably best to make that known right up front.

I have had the opportunity to speak with Jill Heinerth in depth, and will be doing some diving with her in mid-january. I'm looking forward to it. From my understanding, she is a stand out Meg instructor as well....

ron benson "goingunder.net" he is great too!! he is on the board deep thought. i have taken a bunch of classs from him. he is very safe, professional and does a great job. so it looks like you are in luck, lots of good instructors to choose from. good luck and welcome to the club!!!

Another vote / recomendation fo Gregg at: Home. Did my KISS and cavern with him in June, great guy / teacher. He is / was tempting me for a return to Florida for full cave in January. Further info can be provided offline.
