Re: Golem BOV

Come on guys someone on here must use a Golem BOV so come and give Michael some advice please!

Anyway, Michael, my experience of an OC/DSV (read BOV) was a Bob Howell I had on my Inspo 3 or so years ago that I then sold on....

Anyway, I used to connect my OC/DSV to my stage cylinder via a quick connect.

It is not a good idea IMHO to have it plugged into your diluent, I use my rebreather to rebreathe.

Don't use one anymore, they are good, but what with teaching I keep my DSV as standard where possible.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Re: Golem BOV

Cedric Verdier uses the Golem BOV on his Meg.. he mentions it in his article about Bailing Out http://www.rebreatherworld.com/rebre...iling-out.html

Take care,

Scott

Hi Dave,

Interesting that you should take that approach. I personally run my OC/CC DSV straight from my dil. I believe that the DSV is a great transition tool rather than a complete bailout option. I don't use any QDs for simplicity and have all of my bailout tanks fitted with LP inflator hoses so they can be plugged into the lungs if need be.

Let's have a fight about who is right

Re: Golem BOV

I use Golem BOV on my Meg and it is plumbed into the dil tank. It is not a bailout solution, just for transition/sanity breaths. I use the omniswiwel for hose routing and/or a quickconnect to give me options

Omniswivel
Quick disconnect for BOV or second stage regulator.
