Golem BOV & Swagelock Connections

OK - am perhaps dumber than a sack full of hammers but.....Have read some of the previous Swagelock QC articles posted and discussed with Mark the methods of matching up the Golem BOV to offboard gas incorporating the QC6 connections. Despite Marks great photos the guys here at Swagelock cant/dont have the adapters to make the connection from the BOV and from the 2nd Stage hose connection to their swagelok threads. Have also not had any response from M&J Engineering or Golem despite a couple of e-mails on adapters.
Does anyone have the specific adapter part number or size that will fit on the BOV inlet to a 1/4" NPT and vice versa from the 2nd stage hose end to a 1/4" NPT. Or has anyone got a listing on parts/part numbers for whole assembly. Thanks Mark for your help before but no luck so far.

Depending on what you need:

ADT-2014A Adapter 9/16-18 Male TO 1/4" NPT Male, Low Pressure
ADT-2015 Adapter 3/8-24 Male TO 1/4" NPT Female, Low Pressure

Both can be found: here

Re: Golem BOV & Swagelock Connections

Hi,

Martin from Tecme.de has a 9/16UNF to 1/4 Swagelok tubing here.
Or why dont you cut a regular hose and put a Swagelok push-on connector at the end?

You are correct that Swagelok does not carry them....

As far as M&J goes... I have not had any issue with them and typically call them directly. Another source would be Northeast Scuba Supply in PA. Ask to speak to John Allan and let him know that I referred you.

Feel free to send me a private email if you need any more help at mark_nix@msn.com

Using normal scuba LP hose with the Swagelok push in connectors is a bad idea. They will part company. We went through this years ago on the KISS list and a few people tried it with bad results. The push on conectors are not all the same either. Swagelok are quite specific about what works with what and they are telling the truth.

And the qc6 series don't have enough flow if you look at the swag web site.

Not that I am directly in the know, but Jakub was at the NACD Conference and then at DEMA. He has always been very responsive. So, I would guess he is traveling if he is not answering.

I am pretty sure he has the parts that will work for this as I was discussing this with him within the last couple of weeks, and he indicated that although he did not have them at the time (meaning in his hand, not that he doesn't carry them), he would be able to obtain such parts that would provide for adequate gas flow and quick disconnection.

I disagree with this... In practice I have used them without issue to 250fsw.

Steve what would you recommend using with the Swageloks if LP hosing is lacking?

Cheers,

Dave.
