All I know is that it holds a negative, so guessed it used a different mechanism to the v4tec. As far as i am aware its the same as the V4tec and its all down to luck if it holds Neg or not based on which end of the tolerance scale you are. Didn't think you could get the Bob one any more but I like the sound of the Divematics. Ill look into the cost of machining an 0 ring groove into the V4tec. It cant be that hard to do with a multi axis CNC milling head ATB Mark Chase

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Golem O rings I thought the Golem had some O rings but still relyed on close tolerance for the seal between oc/cc side ? I thought the Bob Howell & the Divematics were the only 2 with enough O rings to seal the bov between oc/cc & outside . No,the Golem BOV uses o-rings to seal around the ball valve (standard in gas applications). You can adjust the o-ring tension by rotating the grooved retaining split-rings. We are putting together service manual/video that will show it better than I can explain. You can see the ball valve and split-rings here: https://www.golemgear.com/showgaller...d=3&slideidx=9 Golem BOv passes the neg test fine. Last edited by lof : 13th October 2006 at 17:51. |

[/quote] Very happy with Divematics BOV, passes +/- with no problem. Longest negative test had for ~5 hours, very easy to switch OC/CC. Easy to breath. Excellent quality. Nick |

At a guess I have played with 20 Jetsam OC/CC DSVs and have never had one fail a neg test. My personal ones have been in use for years. I think you mentioned once that you had an issue and hence me asking you as you have played with a few models. <edit> Sorry, I have had 1 fail. It was after I lent it to someone that decided to pull it apart and put it back together incorrectly.

All of my Jetsam BOVs held negative pressure fine from the original large Sherwood reg to the lastest before the switch to Mares. What I said (in the past) were:

Dived the V4Tec yesterday to 55m. Very comfortable, totally dry and WOB was fine no noticeable difference to the inspo. Bailout knob turns easier in the water than on land, Going OC was no problem but the WOB on the reg wasn't that much better than the Paragon on the KISS. About the same I would say. I am going to have a go at tuning it for the nextdive. ATB Mark Chase
