Re: So wich one is best?

Well, seeing as there is yet another thread discussing Krolak's inability to deliver his DSV let's take him out of the equation.

That leaves Jetsam in Canada, making the BOV as used on the KISS rebreathers.
Or Divematics in the US which also makes a BOV.

The Jetsam is a bit smaller and costs a bit less. You're limited to the 2nd stage it comes with.
QC are available, if your hoses fit, great, if not ...

Divematics will make the DSV fit you hose connectors as they're custom made.
And you'll have a choice of second stages. For that you pay more and have more bulk.

Both are proven and work well. Both have been selling for years.
Both companies have good reputations for customer service.

Better is likely the one that suits you needs best.

Can't say much about the German BOVs as I've never seen one.

You can also get custom hose connectors on the divelife site that will allow you to connect the dsv using standard inspiration hoses and mushroom valves.

Re: So wich one is best?

Just as a note, I will say that this is second-hand knowledge, but others have reported problems with leaks on the Krolak units that then had to be sent back for a "fix".

Judging by the reports of our readers, you might be able to service the unit yourself, or, if you have several years to wait, you might get service from Krolak.

For a custom fit on hoses, and choice of second stage, you can't beat the Divematics BOV. As Stefan pointed out however, both the Jetsam and Divematics are quality units, and well-supported by their makers.

Just my ppO2's worth.

Re: So wich one is best?

Does anyone have any WOB info on the two OC/CC DSVs mentioned above? In CC mode I mean?

In case anyone is interested; whilst speaking with Gordon about his new DSV before he died he said he was measuring a 50% reduction in WOB on the prototype DSV compared to the current one. He also mentioned that he thought he knew how to get that to 80%

I have heard that it will be later in the year... Origionally it was planned for around now before Gordon passed away. Jetsam will be at BTS in two weeks and I will see if they can provide further details.

Dive Safe...
