| Mmmm Rubber!! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Divematics cc/oc BOV I am looking at purchasing the above for my YBOD. I have a few questions for the knowledgable amongst us.....Does this unit use the ybod check valves or are they specials from Divematics? If they are specials how easy are they to get hold of? Would you need to buy a service kit (just in case) when you order the BOV? Is this kit expensive? Thanks in advance for your help. These answers will hopefully seal the deal and i will finally press the button marked spend. Mike

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Divematics cc/oc BOV Mike, The Divematics BOV uses the APD check valves. You just swap them over, and connect the hoses. The o-rings are not "specials". You can source them from any major distributor of o-rings. Be sure to use the address: divematics AT divenet.com and put a diving related subject in the subject line to get past the spam filter. If you have any trouble, contact me at airlandseatrng AT sbcglobal.net, or PM me here. I have two of the units now, and they work like a champ. The opening is a big bore, so no effect on WOB, and the lever twists with two fingers regardless of depth. (Full disclosure: Yes, Tracy is a friend of mine, and yes, I work with him on other projects, but the above is still TRUE!! )

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Divematics cc/oc BOV I have one on my Widolf DR-600 FFM with an Apeks TX-100 second stage on it. A little large, but an easy-breathin' son-of-a-gun! The other has the Oceanic telephone second stage, and I haven't had that one deeper than 174 fsw yet, but it is fine to that point. ![]()

Do you get; LP hose, second stage etc. ready mounted to a DSV, the lot ready to screw into 'T' bar on the CL's (and therefore leaving you a spare DSV) Or do you get some kind of kit that you have to assemble to your exsisting DSV? | Proper Boffin ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Divematics cc/oc BOV For the $800 or there abouts, I got the DSV, with the adapter/fittings to screw it into my existing YBOD breathing hose fittings, using the existing non-return valves. The 2nd stage is fitted, but I had to supply my own LP hose for it (which I fitted with the AP GCS fittings to allow connection to my offboard). So basically it replaces only the white original DSV. |
