| Mouthpiece for JJ BOV? Anyone familiar with the mouthpiece type used on the JJ BOV? I was using a Seacure II, which fit the Meg perfectly (and regs such as Zeagle), but the same model won't fit the JJ BOV. The mouthpiece retention lip on the BOV is fairly wide. Will a mouthpice made for Scubapro regs fit correctly? What works (or what doesn't work?) Thanks, Paul |

| Re: Mouthpiece for JJ BOV? you need to fit one from Ap, the one they use for the inspiration. Its one of the very few that actually hold your mouth open correctly, and it fits the JJ bov port best Dave |

| Re: Mouthpiece for JJ BOV? Almost a year later... ![]() The stock Draeger mouthpiece fits, but it's not very comfortable and hurts my lower lip after a while. I think I'll give the AP piece a try. Any other options? |

| Re: Mouthpiece for JJ BOV? I fashioned a SeaCureII to my JJ and have helped some others do the same. I think I made a thread about it somewhere but here is the process in a nut shell. 1. Mold the mouthpiece portion as normal. 2. fashion two wooden dowels that fit side-by-side to fit the INTERNAL diameter of the JJ and secure this with duct tape (what else?). 3. cut the dowels at an angle on one side so the fitting devise looks like a house when stood up (regular size for about 3" then start the taper). 4. slide the mouth piece down the tapered side until it fits snugly. 5. (here is where it gets tricky) take boiling water and poor it over the neck of the mouthpiece only as you continue to press it further down towards the full interior diameter. 6. Continue this a few times until it fits the interior diameter snugly. 7. This will now be large enough to fit over the JJ mouthpiece lip but still be tight enough to form a seal. 8. (additional step if necessary) Once you fit it over the JJ the standard lip with the seacure that holds the zip-tie may be warped and thinner. To create another lip, I put the zip tie on and pulled as tight as I could then poured more hot water over the neck of the seacure until the zip tie melts into the groove slightly. 9. Remove zip tie and let cool, then put new zip tie on the newly formed neck lip. It worked for well over a year before I sold my JJ-BOV. Hope that helps!
