I thought I had read briefly somewhere that the GCS is a one-direction connector ?

If it is true, then the way you are connecting, it is a bi-direction flow depending on which device the manifold end is connected to (?)

If it is not, never mind...
I also believe it's a unidirectional system. But in the application I have, I don't come off the manifold - check out the routing pics in the article. It's EITHER from the dil first stage, or a sidemount first stage.

I have toyed with the system DaveT outlined in another thread where the DSV comes off the manifold, and the GCS allows inboard and/or offboard to be plumbed into the manifold. I didn't do this as I felt that it then made the manifold a single failure point, but I do like the idea that it could possible give me access to 3L more bailout that my system.

Re: DiveMatics OC/CC DSV (BOV) Write-Up

I didn't have a chance to read the article and was only looking at the pictures from the post...

Sorry, I ASSumed that the feed from the picture onboard was coming from your manifold. And the external stage could be feeding into the same connector for the manifold as well.

I am still thinking about the possibilities (and more importantly the remifications) of using the manifold as the central hub to add diluent and O2 in emergency situation.

Since the manifold is feeding the ADV, theoretically I could plumb the Nitrox OC bail-out gas into it and manually activate the ADV to bump up the set-point in emergency situations. Since I should be making the ascent at that time anyway, the ADV will not be activating automatically by pressure so there is little chance of a run-away Nitrox injection. Again, it is definitely not KISS so I am still in the thinking process of that.
