![]() | Sealed quick connect/disconnect Hello, I'm looking for a quick connect/disconnect that both sides would be sealed when disconnected. Some of you have product suggestion ? I'm planning to fit the male part at the end of a long hose connected on my Kiss BOV and the female part on a short hose on the bail-out 1st stage. This would let me quickly switch bail-out gaz underwater. In fact I already ue Hensen coupling LL2 quick connect but they are really big and one is leaking now, so time to replace it... Thanks, |

If the hose only feeds your BOV, I wouldnt worry about water entry so much, as it'll be blown through the 2nd stage. If the Q/D line feeds your rig, especially the oxygen side where the water could run through an orifice or solenoid, then I'd be much more careful. On my BOV I use CEJN 221 male. Offboard whips are CEJN 221 female. I also have CEJN 221 males feeding into my O2 and dil side for offboard gas. Each of these is in-line with a chek-valve, so minimal water can enter when pressurized after being connected underwater.

That's what I was trying to avoid...I'll have a look to these product. Another feature that I will compare is ease of use with big cold water gloves... Thanks guys for your feedback. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Sealed quick connect/disconnect I have been using QC6 for roughly a year now. They work fine and the size is also good to be used with thick dry gloves (three finger type). It lets in a little water put that has not been a problem. JH Finland |

OTOH the male end of the Swagelok fitting is quite handy for filling lift bags, you can push down on the fitting to release gas.

Yes, but if you look at how it must be assembled, the female part (body) must be located near the gas source.page 3

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Sealed quick connect/disconnect Maybe it has to do with the amount of water that comes into the connector when you couple it underwater. The female part may open first so gas will flush most of the liquid then the stem opens. That's just a guess.
