V4tec have now modified the BOV to allow the +ve and -ve tests to hold more easily.

There is a conversion pack available for existing owners who want to upgrade, with details on the web site www.v4tec.com

Re: V4tec Bov - modification

The new bits fitted with out a problem and it took half an hour to do. It did as expected and sorted out the negative test this held very well. I dived the unit on Sunday only a 45 minute bimble around a flooded quarry so only 15M max depth possible. Again no problems with the modification.

Re: V4tec Bov - modification

BOV is still working well, so I am happy this mod sorts out the negative test problem.

Re: V4tec Bov - modification

Im sure it works - but would have thought a far simpler way would be to just have a plug shaped to push inside the mouthpiece hole with an o-ring for sealing. Guess you might loose the plug though so maybe this design is better.

That I suppose is a good reason for the built in system, although it adds a few more O-rings to the BOV. All in all it works well and sorts out the one problem I had with the BOV.
