Golem BOV Stiffness

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how to adjust the stiffness of the turning action of the Golem BOV. I have two of these. One is nice and the lose, while the other is a bit stiffer. Both have been thoroughly cleaned, so I know its not dirt/salt clogging it. Any ideas?

Nick..

Re: Golem BOV Stiffness

What kind of lubricant did you use to grease the O-rings inside with?

Mine was the same when I got it. Just get an Apeks 2nd stage service kit or get your LDS to preform a service on the regulator portion.

Re: Golem BOV Stiffness

They shouldn't need re-lubing, they usually come lubed with christolube. (Mine did). Only need relubing at the time of annual service.

You will find after a few dives and actuating the BOV underwater it loosens up.

Apparently speaking to Jakub (Golem Gear), it would be down to the way the circlips are in the BOV. (there is a ridge on one side of them). I'm, gonna have a play around with this.
