BOV or ADV

Hi Guys, I dive a classic inspo as it came originally. Now I am starting to push it towards deeper 50-60m range diving for the time being before moving onto full mix. My question is, what is the preferrable order of buying things, if I buy the adv I can add GCS so I can plug in offboard dil and still have wing inflate, whereas with a whip I would only have drysuit which is not a problem. Or do I bite the bullet and buy a BOV now, quite like the look of the golem ones, but could really do with some advice.

Cheers

Re: BOV or ADV

ADV is a conveniance and a BOV is a life saver.

As for breathing off a ADV???

Bov's work on flooded units and ADV's dont always.

The Golum is an Apex internals and breathes like an Apex and the ADV on my Classic breathed like an asmatic on a bad day.

To me there is no contest but others will no doubt disagree.

Re: BOV or ADV

you can also wait for the APD BOV to be realesed by the end of the year. It will combine a BOV and an ADV.

... and thats the way it should be: and ADV is not a second stage, is serves just to compensate volume decrease when descending
an ADV must have high resistence when breathing from it, so that you feel that you activate it: if not, you break your mix far to easy during deco, by inspiring diluent unwanted

Re: BOV or ADV

Dunno whether I'll wait for the AP I'll see how my diving progresses, but I do believe that if anything was gonna kill me on a breather it would be co2 and the inability to get off the loop.

Is the golem recommended? Are there any significant problems I should take note of? Such as inability to hold a neg test etc

Re: BOV or ADV

bov first it might end up saving your life. golems is nice , i use tracy's because i intend to upgrade it to full face and he has an adapter for the aga already. and you can use your old regs with tracy's. that said he can be a bit of a bother to get a hold of right now, that should get better in the coming months. i cant speak for the golem but tracy's have no problem with neg and pos test.
