Do a search on Paragon. I think you may find that at on a good day it is an unreliable poor performer. Not exactly the description of the things one looks for in life support gear.
Do yourself a favor be safe & replace the little bugger.

RAL
Yes but personally I don't like Mares !

Mares is not the only option you have. I replaced mine with a SP G-500. There is a current thread about a nice Atomic convertion with references to a few other regs that have been called into service to replace the Paragon. Some use the new adaptor some do not. The biggest hurdle is taking a good second stage & putting it to the knife. It all gets easier after the first few passes with the hacksaw

Re: Adjusting Kiss Paragon ? How ?

My usual tuning proceedure is-

1. Disconnect LP feed hose.

2. Unscrew and remove stainless clamp between BOV and Paragon.

3. Remove o-rings from Paragon mouthpiece.

4. Insert Paragon into dustbin.

5. Fit anything (chewing gum, cheese, broken/locked paragon, old carpet, SNOG Valve, Mares POS) to keep BOV dry.

6. Sit back, open Cider- relax.

regards,
BEN

Ben you forgot to fine tune Paragon using repeated sharp blows with 4lb maul before step 4. After all you would not someone to mistake it for a regulator if they came across it.

Re: Adjusting Kiss Paragon ? How ?

You missed the pre-adjustment test, as some are not worth even the adjustments advised:

We float test them first:

Procedure:

(1): Remove from DSV.
(2): Toss into ocean.
(3): Observe results.

Any that float are retrieved for further adjustment. Those that do not float are abandoned to King Neptune, who has a special place in Davy Jones Locker for unreliable diving crap.

The Mares has been fine, just wish the damned thing were not yellow.

Dave
