| Re: BOV Quick Disconnect - Ocean Reef This might seem like a silly question, but what about water ingress into your second stage when rinsing your BOV once you have disconnected your reg hose. Is it just more regular maintenace to offset the convienance? Secondly, LP connectors on occaison have been know to pop off, Murphys law indicates it will happen when you need it . The one from Golem gear has a lock, I think need to twist before you pull. ![]() Regards Hugh |

A second stage seat is not affected by fresh water, so don't sweat it. I've *never* seen a CEJN QD "uncouple" unless deliberately disconnected. And this is with the large sliding piece on both the Viking and Unisuit connection hoses, never mind the small sliders on the fittings supplied with the hoses. This is simply not a concern. One handed push-on is the good part of a CEJN as well as the flow and compatability with drysuit and air-source hoses. In fact, I've never seen any QD "disconnect" by itself. Methinks that theory here is not reflected by experience. The Golem one *does not* have a lock and *does not* have a twist to uncouple feature, it's *exactly* the same as a CEJN from a mechanical standpoint. Sadly, it's "just slightly different" in profile as compared to a CEJN so is not compatable with anything. Dave

| Re: BOV Quick Disconnect - Ocean Reef Actually, the new version of the Omniswivel QD that we sell has a lock. You need to line up a pin in a sliding part with a notch in the body of the female part of the QD. |
