V4TEC Mushrooms/neg test

This is not the normal neg test question
With the V4TEC stuck in mouth ,inhale side blocked & the OC hose feed blocked I can still suck air in from somewhere Now is this just a querk of the V4TEC or is it just a mushroom valve problem ?

Re: V4TEC Mushrooms/neg test

I Had this problem with the V4 tec BOV and found that you had to ensure the mushroom valves were seated very well and that the hoses were tight. It helps to lubricate the external O ring. This helps to ensure the hoses are fully home. Make sure the mushroom valve area is spotless and clean and make sure they are fully located.

Hope this helps

R

Easy enough to block the exhale side as well to test your theory about the mushroom valve...

Mine was OK when blocked like your initial method, so it must be specific to your particular BOV.

See if the leak comes through the attached regulator (at least my polish BOV does that and the V4TEC is just a copy of that one).

Re: V4TEC Mushrooms/neg test

Most likely this mysterious will allow positive pressure leak as well, so why don't you block as mentioned, and stick the BOV u/w (i.e. sink) and blow out hard ?
