Re: Rebreather that uses standard air?

Are there any rebreather systems that operate off of a standard tank of air rather than Nitrox, Heliox etc.? Hoe do these work to be efficient and control the ppo2 levels? Thanks for your help!
The AP Evolution uses air as a diluent in one tank along with another tank with 100 percent O2. This unit is an eletronically controlled (or manual if you desire) that operates a solenoid that injects small amounts of O2 as needed to maintain the setpoint. The setpoint is iniatially set by the user before the start of the dive or change be changed during the dive. There are 2 setpoints a low and high setpoint and a depth that the unit will switch automatically or manaully if desired between. There are no sensors other than the diver monitoring the setpoint to prevent exceeding the setpoint and the breathing loop becoming hyperoxia. Hope this helps.
