Steve- Is the B29 open to divers now??????

Hey Curt: As of the meeting last night...the NPS is finalizing a management plan thay say will be done in about two weeks. At that point it will be published in Federal Bid procedure. Formal submitted proposals will be evalauted and two Commercial Use Temporay 3 month permits will be issued. After they see how the two commercial operators perform.. a decision will be made as to how to continue to operate the diving of the B-29. They were hoping for a tentative start to dive date of May 1, 2007. Keep in mind that the B-29 elevation is at 970'. Lake Levels are currently at about 1129'..and dropping. By my math that makes the depth to the plane about 159' to the mud. So this site may be within recreational depths in the next year to 18 months or so.

Hope this helps.... tell Mel hello...not sure if she remembers or not but I did my Trimix Instructor training out here with here and a group a few years back.....

Steve- Mel says hi back, and yes she remembers you and so do I. We had a great trip. Please keep us in the loop about what is going on in the lake. Mel will PM you tonight.
