Sealing Hydrophobic membrane to canister

Dear List,
I’m sure some of you all ready made this modification …….but if you didn’t I think it’s a good idea. I sandwiched some 1/16th inch o-ring cord between the canister body and the hydrophobic membrane. The benefits are obvious. I did this on the top and bottom to make it more Hydrophobic in case of a loop flood. I like using o-ring cord instead of RTV or silicone. This makes the canister much easier to take apart in the future for cleaning. (It isn't glued together) Make sure you sandwich the o-ring cord in the side like the picture shows. You don't want to put the o-ring in the groove under or on top of the membrane. It will make the canister taller. CCR designed the canister a certain height and you don't want to change that!

Cheers Frankie

P.S. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the factory installs the membrane with silicone. Best to ask Al or Jason.
