Life is boring enough as it stands.
When you write about something using the same word over and over again becomes very dull and with only a limited number of opportunities for a pronoun we need a reasonable range of terms with similar definitions to keep things interesting.
(The first time I wrote that I used the noun 'word' three times. The rewrite is so much better.)
