| A way to get round HMC&E is to ship it to a divecentre youre friendly with outside the EU, (Red Sea somewhere) go there for a holiday, fit the mouthpiece, scratch it up a bit and, voila, waltz back through Customs scott free.
I may be wrong here but as I am aware the cost of importing dive equipment to Egypt is very high (at least that's what people selling slime will tell you!). So it's a case whether UK or Egyptian customs grabs you AFAIK.
As Simon knows well, I've got one of Philip's OC/DSVs and as he is doubly aware I've had it for a year and not used it. I would say that the delivery time is very long and the payment process APITA. It looks and feels very well made though I think I need a visit to the gym to be able to turn it on and off. Anyone else found this problem or is it just a case of regreasing (if so what sort) or any other cunning ploy that needs to be used ?
I'll be using it in a couple of weeks (well, hopefully not having to use it but testing it out) when I go on my hols and I'll post my thoughts on the list. |
