I am sure that there is some performance difference between 2nd stage mounted up front and at the bottom. The bottom one will breathe easier, but would have more tendency to freeflow on the surface (we put stronger spring in there to prevent that). Our BOV was built for scootering, you do not want front mounted 2nd stage if you are zooming along at high speeds Also, less leverage on your jaw when mounted at the bottom.
