Somewhat off topic (but thats been done anyhoo, so hey)

Hi Peter,

I dont wish to criticise, but the above config. seems rather odd. If you are relying on your inboard o2 for OC then you don't have enough gas / redundancy... if the o2 blows for example. I mention this as I have lost my inboard o2 before - so yes it DOES happen.

So, why would you reccommend such a config / option?

The reason I ask is the APD QD's are quite a good failure path if NOT connected - at least IMHO. But hey, YMMV.
Paul,

I always take enough bailout with me. In Egypt we were doing dives to 70 meters and I had 2 12 liters sidemounted with me.

But what if you need more gas than expected? Wouldn't you feel rather dumb running out of gas whith the best deco gas (shallow) on your back but inaccesible? And 400 liters O2 at 6 meters goes a long way.

I never had a problem with the QCs, but if they fail, it will probably when you disconnect them, not when you connect them.

Just my opinion,

Peter
