Re: Argon bottle attachment

Andy
I also mounted a BC / dry suit inflation bottle on top of the kit, and on the side of our waist strap.

I tried mounting a steel 8 Cubic foot tank on the top of the rig. It helped even out the kits trim. But it was a entanglement issue, it would also hit my head, and awfully ugly!! So I abandoned that idea.

I also tried to side mount this bottle and because I have short stubby arms it’s a real bitch to quickly get to my shut off valves so I abandoned that idea.

I’ve used one of my bail out tanks as BC / Dry suit inflation and I personally want to leave that gas for bail out and bail out only. Specially on my deep dives

I’m a tweaker with my dive gear and probably have one of every thing. I’m constantly trying different things to find the perfect set up for my style of diving. I’m sure if you wanted to make a butt mount it could be done. I’ve seen the older style Boris so I under stand what you’re dealing with.

My biggest concern on mounting the tanks to my on board tanks is entanglement. I can easily get to the valves but I’m not so sure if something got wedged between them. Have you had any bad experiences with mounting that tank there? I’m mainly a wreck diver and I worried about a cable or something getting wedged there.

Well I’m off to the local quarry to do a little tweaking and enjoy the last dive of 2006! I just got the golem gear side mount kit. I’m going to try diving the stage bottles that way. My first two dives I made the bungee cords were way to tight/close to my torso. Have a great 2007, be safe and Dive Dive Dive your Boris!!! And Happy year to every body

Cheers Frankie
