Nope..
all Teledyne diving cells have had hydrophobic membrances for several years..
Internally there USED to be a difference (for a period of time) between r22-buds and R22-d..
The original r22-bud was still using the old temperature compensating ckt when the r22ds were upgraded.. a year or 2 later the buds became internally identical again.. I don't remember what the change was but it was not really significant..
I also know of an occasion (I saw the email) that happened a few years ago where someone elses cells were sent to AP (with permission and the labels changed) because AP was out of cells and theirs were not ready from production..
The difference that APD claims is that their cells undergo additional testing to qualify them for use in the Inspiration..
in the US R22bud cells retail for $99 while R22d cells from oxycheq retail for $70.. Dealer cost for the BUD cell is more than the retail price for the R22-d cell..
