Of course, these are not made to go fumbling around the sharp edge of a 50 year old wreck but they are tough/durable enough to keep your hands on the anchor line during ascent if you need to. They are very flexible, easy to get on alone and trimable same as drysuit seals. I usually wear polartec gloves undernearth for water around 50°f/10°c and add a silk liner (motobike stuff) for water around freezing temp. For water temp above 10°c, I use the liner that comes with it (some kind of polypro I think), then you have the flexibility of surgery gloves vs ski mits with the Atlas ones.
Some friends of mine use them year round with only the liner and add a warm water (read thin) wetglove on top.
