Funny, I view the rebreather as a safety and life support, not as an endangerment. Sure, when it goes wrong, it can go very wrong. However, in most cases, CCR presents more options when this happens including going back to open circuit.
I was not attracted to the "danger" of CCR; I went to it for its safety aspects.
