I see no difference between paying our respects at a grave side, war memorials, in place like Flanders Fields at sites of other battles or beneath the waves where brave men gave their lives for their countries.
I'm with you on all 3 counts, with the addendum that we are likely to be among the very few who remember/honour those who gave their lives on the more obscure wrecks and in more far-flung locations.
