Hi Cedric,
Thanks for the article.
The only point I would make is that I do not see sanity breaths as a solution to hypoxia, I believe that the only immediate reaction to low O2 is to do a diluent flush, this is taught by every agency I teach for whether IANTD, TDI, PSA or ITDA.
Even with a neck-tied regulator the time it can take to close a DSV and secure the regulator can be too long, especially if the cylinder is closed and we have all found cylinders we believed to be opened that have closed!
A diluent flush is almost instantaneous and can save a life, as stated in a previous thread, I have seen a diver go unconscious coming off the loop to secure a second stage to breathe from.
Cheers,
Dave Cooper.
Cedric, again, great article, many thanks. Just to follow up on what you and Dave said. Just to remind people how important it is when diving with people who dont know how your 'bretaher works. A simple 'push here if I go unconscious (ADV)' could save a life, or 'this is my loop, not a useful hand-hold, it must stay in my mouth' (bit of personal experience there!) .
Just on that - i have a Nemo that I had on my Inspo (which I liked ). Now I've got a Meg - does anyone know if I can get adaptors or fit it?
BTW, Sounds cheeky i know, but and chance of you coming up with a guide to diving with FFMs?
Actually Dave, you should have your BOV for your Nova mask by now, what's it like? (I'm still awiating mine

)
Thanks again,
Nick
