Hello to all.
Never dove a rebreather - am looking for mentorship so to speak. Have been a freediver for several years and have grown tired of open circuit while diving on supplied air.
Met some great folks at DEMA 2006 and learned enough that it intrigued me to come and register.
I publish a site devoted to shooting video underwater -
Welcome to UWDV.COM - Dedicated to the Art of Shooting Underwater Video - and am wanting to learn what it takes to dive a rebreather. One person I spoke with from NC I believe had stated that there are those who make their rebreathers - I was shocked!
Is it safe to do such a thing? The price tag to get into rebreathers is way out of my range with a commercial unit and the idea of doing a DIY does intrigue me - but only if it is proven to be safe.
I will probably lurk quite a bit - but reaally would like to learn how to use a rebreather so that I can shoot video with better results due to longer bottom times.
Best regards,
