| Hello, my name is Ron and I'm.... now living in Rockport, Texas. Been here almost a year. I have been a diver since 1964 but very active diving since 1988. I have had lots of dive training up through instructor and rebreather training from Peter Ready. I taught diving for 10 years. I mostly dive to kill stuff, fish, lobsters, abalone, scallops and clams....that is what diving is about for me, it is different for other people. I worked for a year diving commercially servicing boats and cleaning boat bottoms, it is a young mans job. I have built an O2 rebreather that works ok and is fun to dive, cost me about $50 at the time. My friend has built many o2 and a few mixed-gas rebreathers. I am one of the charter members of the CEDU. Of all the instructional agencies for scuba, perhaps the best is the oldest, Los Angeles County (in my opinion). I am not sure that there is anyplace quite like Southern California for SCUBA diving. As for rebreather diving, beach and rocky shore entries are a pita but rebreather diving is great in So Cal also. I look foreward to meeting the members of this forum. |
