Re: Deco Gas Options

I've done profiles like this on 15/55 back gas instead of 18/45. Why push the PPO2? You never know; you might be delayed on the deeper portion of the dive. Okay, that's my comment there, and I will get back to your question.

Each of your deco gases have a positive and less positive aspects. So, I would go with something in between if I had the ideal choice allowed: 50/25 + 100.

I know a number of people that have started using 50/25 instead of EANx 50. They say that they feel better after the dive than they do by using EANx 50. I never did try it since I made the switch to CCR by the time I thought of making that switch. However, it sounds like it makes good sense.

Second, I don't really like the idea of switching to a fairly high nitrogen mix at deeper depths while lowering the Helium content so much at the same time. I would prefer going somewhat shallower on back gas, switching then.
