Yes, water will get on the other side of the inlet tube, so extra care (flushing with fresh water) needs to be taken if you use one of these in salt water.

These work well at 20' and up, as I have tested them. They are inexpensive so get one and try it out. A 2nd stage easily fits in a drysuit pkt. I would hate having to bailout and need extra O2 to deco with and not be able to access the onboard supply. Moreover, if I am doing a relatively short dive and I am starting out with a full, onboard O2 tank this is all I bring for deco bailout. Very nice eliminating a tank. If I am doing a long or deep dive, I still bring the offboard deco bailout.
