Thumbs up Re: 100+ m housing

Just returned from the Photokina in Cologne on Sat night.
The lone housing manufacturer that exhibited was BS Kinetics, a small German company.
First time I saw one of their housings, looked rather snazzy made from carbon fiber composits. Also made the housing rather light weight, about half of what alu weights. Not nad for travel with ever tightning weight restrictions.

Anyway, the stock housings are made for 80 meters, but they have made thicker housings up to a 160 m rating. Past that you'll have trouble finding domes that can take the pressure safely from what I understood.

The housing I looked at was for the new Sony Alpha 100 SLR, but the company does housings for most of the popular SLRs and Videocameras. They'll also do custom jobs if necessary.

The man behind the company is Bodo Sutterer, hence the somewhat unfortunate initials (at least in English ) in the company's name.

Check out the website at BS Kinetics GmbH - Unterwassergehäuse, Underwater housings, Underwater housing, tauchen, diving
thanks a lot for that. what do you suggest? are they worth trying...will they be standing by their warrantee, if any?

many thanks for the link though. i shall send them some fax with some questions that i have.

cheers, safe diving
