Key points;

797 has an absorbency some 1.2 times higher (measured in co2/kg) than spherasorb.

Spherasorb claims a better packing structure than 797, which would imply a lower WOB and hence lower CO2 production from WOB. I've seen no TEST DATA to support this.

Spherasorb has a better resistance to physical churn, which reduces its dustyness.

So the big question that leaves is, does the Sphera reduced WOB offset its lower absorbence?

Finally, Spherasorb is cheaper than 797 by about 40% (disclaimer, I looked up this price about 8 months ago).

Thanks Zak, speaking from my personal experience the sphera packs a lot better and requires less tapping than 797 to get it settled WOB is noticably different and there is significantly less dust. I always err on the side of caution regarding duration so I have yet to be concerned with the lower absorbence.
