Re: Boris floods

The first two batches of units had a scrubber dome that was manufactured by another company, these domes seem to distort and this has led to a number of floods. From the third batch of units the domes have been made in house and supposedly don't distort so much, mine has distorted by 1mm apparently and this is "well within specification".

My flood may be down to the FFM, there is a sliding part on the inner mouthpiece and apparently this can cause a leak if it isn't either fully open or closed, I am yet to test it since I found this out.

In answer to Pierre's query about caustic cocktail, yes, I took a mouthful and lucky managed to avoid swallowing any. On the FFM bailout is achieved by breathing OC through your nose so I switched to that, shut the CC mouthpiece and spat the caustic out. I am taking my unit to Vobster tomorrow and am going to test it with & without the FFM, I have now had two floods on two consecutive dives, one of them ruining my holiday, it's fair to say I'm rather pissed off with the rig at the moment.
