Depends how you weight yourself (i.e., excessively?). In fresh with a Meadows plate it works fine with plenty of lift diving dry; you barely use it. In salt, same thing when diving wet. When diving dry in salt, I use a full back plate and a couple pounds extra. And it worked fine for me the past couple of weeks to 400 feet with double 80s, HD camera, etc. Again, barely need to use it. Lifted me high enough on the surface waiting for recovery though. YMMV.
