Easy conversion to sidemount DSV

Since 2nd hand Airtess sidemount DSV's aren't all that easily obtainable, and I am reluctant to spend significant $$$ on a new Airtess DSV for a homebuild project which hasn't really happened yet.

I was wondering if anyone has contemplated or tried to add a "U" bend onto one side of a standard DSV thereby re-routing one breathing hose to run parallel with the other, thus making breathing off a sidemount rebreather easier?

What would be great as well is that one could use your exsisting DSV, and if it's a BOV you'll have that added feature too. The only small problem is the routing of the MP hose which feeds the reg on the BOV...
