Re: What Exactly Causes Cracked Handsets

THANK YOU

IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO ONE OF THOSE VOTING POLLS ON THIS SUBJECT?

JJ,

I wrote something about what I thought causes the flooded handsets: http://sven.rebreatherworld.com/post/10/91

After I sent them to APD for service, the message I got from them was that the cables were OK but the handsets had "stress cracks". The thinking in general is that these cracks are caused by
- bending the cable close to the handset (during transport, eg. in the car)
- stretching the cable
- banging/dropping the handsets
- crushing them (under somebody else's tank for instance)

I am not totally convinced that is a good explanation because I tend to treat my handsets like eggshells. But you never know ...

By the way, UPPER CASE is like shouting on the Internet and also hard to read.
