instead of taking them to the LDS and paying out the rear, take them directly to the Hydro place. look in the phone book or talk to the local Fire Department, and get the number for the Fire Extinguisher place that does the hydros in the area. you will save ALOT of money by going directly to the hydro outfit yourself. once hydro'd then getting the VIP for $3 or whatever they charge is nothing. the LDS might get alittle pissy about it, but they cant stop you.
i believe in supporting the LDS but due to personal experiences over the years, and that of people i know, i find its just ALOT easier, CHEAPER and generally a better experience taking them down yourself. you dont get all the extra scrapes, gouges, and paint on your like enw cylinders that way either. not to mention you get a realistic ETA on the job.
the next time i need to get a visual done, im just going to either print up my own, or have some VIP stickers printed up, and then have a
qualified person do the visual for me, and stick the sticker to the tank myself. ex dive shop owners can be really helpful people if you know one.
