Ben,

For the SK, you could do mod-2 and forget about mod-3. And I am referring to Normoxic Trimix as mod-2 in my context.

It has been discussed on various threads here. Jetsam spec'ed the max depth for the unit shallower than the depth you need to dive for mod-3 course.

Since I had a couple of SK students REALLY want to do mod-3 course, I begged and pleaded with Jetsam to increase the max depth by 5m so they could officially complete the IANTD mod-3 cert. Gordon (this was last year) didn't want to increase it then, so they only did mod-2.

May be Kim will reconsider now, but I haven't asked since...

ADDited:

Since you are a OC Trimix diver, I recommend to go directly to mod-3 with another unit rated for deeper official range than the SK. Of course, you would have to do a x-over to the new unit, and put hours in beforehand.
