I learnt on a Classic Inspiration, and to do the vision "upgrade" was another 2 day course. I suppose it is different if you learn on a Vision from the off. Looking at price differential though, you get a lot more for your buck going down the route of a classic "cast off", and getting proficient on that, and then making an informed choice about going for an upgrade to the vision electronics. There are folks on here that will advise to go to Hammerhead electronics, over the AP offerings, so I would say, get a cheap classic as a starter. But that's just my two penneth!
