Hi, I'm based in Dublin, Ireland.
Been diving on and off since 1999 with about 130 dives under my belt (roughly 50:50 split between warm and cold water) e.g. Dublin bay, Kilkee, Islandmagee, Portacloy, Killary, Kilkieran Bay, Maharees, St. Johns Point, Inishbofin, Slieve League/Malinbeg, Saltees (all in Ireland) and abroad e.g. Mallorca, Cyprus, Lanzarote, Malta, Queensland GBR.
I'm currently a member of the BSAC club - Dublin University Sub Aqua Club. PADI Rescue/BSAC Sports Diver and have done TDI Advanced Nitrox which lead me on to this lark.
I'm just at the curious stage with respect to rebreathers. I've been reading this forum a bit and thinking about the choices ahead of me. There's some great info here about CCR vs OC and the practicalities, costs associated etc.
I see there are quite a few APD Inspiration Classics coming up for sale. Some are brand new from just the beginning of this season. I guess the sellers are moving to Inspiration Visions (are they THAT good compared to the Classic?) but they must be losing $$$$ with the resale value. For a rebreather newbie is it worth picking up a relatively cheap second hand Classic or saving the bucks and going straight to Vision?
Cheers, Stephen
