£60 for a service and £120 for a new one? This is something I have a problem with. I know that it takes time and parts to service a 1st stage, so I'm not quibbling about the cost of the service, I'm thinking more about the value of having it done at all!
Now, knowing that most Rebreather divers are fairly good at fettling, with these prices, what do others do? Wait two service intervals and buy a new valve? Service it themselves?
For myself, I keep service kits for my regulators and service my own (£12.50), but only if they show signs of IP creep.
