Absolute rank novice here... how's everyone

Greetings all.

On a search through google, I found that post in the photography forum about the sony HDV cam and housing. That's what I've been looking to get some feedback on. I'm a videographer in Orlando Florida, and I'm looking to get into some underwater work.. some surfing, some wakeboarding.. and then hopefully some diving footage. Always wanted to learn how to dive and since I"M in FL... why not.

This looks like a great site for information for a complete rookie like me. Still, I'm totally at a loss at the concept of this rebreater thing. What is it? Is it different than the normal tanks of Oxygen. Any stickie on the site or info would be appreciated. Is it the way of the future or for serious divers and not for somone as new and experienced as me. Just sounds cool.. so any info on that would be appreciated.

Also, if there's anyone in Florida with some suggestions on a school to go to learn how to dive.. or if there's any underwater video people willing to help out a rank rookie get set-up that would be great. I'm still not totally ready to buy the housing and the cam and all that,... but I'm getting there. I like to buy my toys.

Now, I don't have any footage on my site from diving but I do have some cool looking otherthings I shot. Check out the file listed as factory and the butterfly one from here: www.electriccowtheater.com/video/

You will need Quicktime 7 to view the vidoes. You can download that from apple.com

Looking forward to learning alot and happy to now be a memeber on this site... Thanks again.
