Nothing like a 20km cycle ride on the sandy beaches of the South China Sea to calm down.
500 pounds of force is quite significant, especially if one were to rely on the clamps to hold that in. Surely there are options that are potentially feasible. Testing of the sensors prior to going in prevents aborted dives, hence I'll risk further insult.
Perhaps a jig that you install the Meg into to safely contain the situation? A jig to contain 500 pounds of tension should not be that significant in terms of weight and size.
Or maybe a single plug that enables disconnection of all the sensors so they can be re-connected inside a dedicated pot. The pot itslef could record the response function(s) with a bit of hard/software.
Aknowledgement: For Ron Micjan for his ever so helpful feedback.
