| Help...... ..I'm now the exceedingly proud owner of a meg but I don't have any rebreather buddies in the UK to dive with, hence I'm sat at the computer rather than underwater! To explain I was working in the dive industry abroad (mainly in the Red Sea) until October; teaching recreational diving in order to fund gas dives & training (you can imagine to ratio of one to another). I finally agreed to accept a 'proper' job back here with the knowledge that I could then afford to buy a meg (afford to pay back the credit card to be precise). I did my Mod 1 with Dennis Vessy at the end of April and then managed a couple of holidays in May to get practising (Dahab and then Scapa) so I'm on 21 hrs at the moment. I would love to dive most weekends but all my diving friends here are either recreational only, don't dive in the UK water or don't have diving as their weekend priority. If I even mention rebreathers to work colleagues, family or non diving friends they now put their hands to their ears! I would gladly dive most weekends (I have accommodation close to Plymouth) and evenings (if anyone knows of places around Milton Keynes – could you be further from the sea!). If I can get enough practice in then I hope to go mixed gas next year! So if any one would like an attractive, vivacious, single, female buddy for prolonged periods underwater then don't hesitate to get in touch! Thanks and it’s good to say hello to you all at last, Jo |
